January 12, 2007
Chinese ZTE has been licensed open standards-based DBTV (Digital Broadcast TV) software by UK-based TTP (Technology development and IP licensing group The Technology Partnership), to be used in ZTE's new 3G mobile phones. TTP's DBTV software features DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast) digital TV and radio reception, and fully supports Microsoft Windows Media DRM (Digital Rights Management) 10 for Portable Devices. The TPP software is envisaged to be paired with STMicroelectronics's Nomadik application processor for use in ZTE's 3G mobile phones.
